The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports multiple active weather systems influencing conditions, from cyclonic circulations over northeast India to troughs stretching across central and southern states.
Northern hill states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are seeing light to moderate snowfall. Jammu & Kashmir may experience scattered snow and rain until March 12 with isolated precipitation continuing until March 15.
Temperatures are soaring across northwest and central India. Delhi recorded a seven-day average temperature roughly 7.3°C above normal and the hottest first week of March in 50 years. March 2026 is breaking early heat records last set in 2011.
