Weather Today (12, February 2026): In February 2026, the trend remains consistent, with India experiencing a mostly dry and mostly calm weather condition while there might be some isolated instances where there might be some rain or snow. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), some instances of Western Disturbance might occur in the hill regions however, these locations Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh will experience a largely dry and hot weather condition. This article looks at locations where temperatures are rising and where there might be some snow or rains.

Where Will It Snow Today?

Snowfall today is occurring mainly in the higher altitude zones in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), flagged isolated spells for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit‑Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on February 13, 16, and 17 while snow in Himachal and Uttarakhand is expected on the 16th and 17th. Hill towns such as Shimla, Manali, Srinagar, Dehradun and Leh may see cloudy skies with light snow or slush over the next few days rather than prolonged blizzards.

Will There Be Any Rain Today?

The current situation in the country shows that most of India is dry, but this is restricted to some scattered places and there is a possibility of isolated light rain in Arunachal Pradesh on February 11, 12 and 14. There is a possibility of brief rain in Itanagar and Tawang. Lakshadweep may see light to moderate rain on the 11th while North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry may see isolated drizzle on the 13th but the rest of the country will see completely clear and partly cloudy skies.

Is the Heat Rising in North India?

As the winter is not officially over, temperatures are slowly showing an upward trend in the northern plains where daytime highs in Delhi are hovering around 25-27°C, beating the city’s average for February. The IMD said the minimum temperatures over northwest India will remain nearly steady for the next couple of days and then rise gradually by about 2-3 °C during the next five day with a cause of concern for early heat impacting the agriculture belt.

Delhi–NCR Weather Today

Delhi‑NCR enjoys a relatively settled, dry day with clear to partly cloudy skies with the minimum temperature is around 15°C, peaking near 26°C with an average daytime mercury of about 19°C. Winds hover near 4.5 km/h from the north‑west (around 294°) with gusts touching 8.92 km/h.

Chennai Weather Today

Chennai sees a mild February day, with minimum and maximum temperatures bracketed by 21–27°C and the day‑long average sits near 23°C, accompanied by a gentle breeze of about 6.03 km/h coming from around 39° (north‑east sector) and gusts around 5.63 km/h. 

Mumbai Weather Today

Mumbai remains humid but comfortable with minimum 25°C and maximum 28°C today and most of the day hovers around 26°C with winds of roughly 5.66 km/h from the west (270°) and gusts up to 6.58 km/h while the outlook keeps coastal temperatures in the high‑20s through the week, again without significant rainfall.

Hyderabad Weather Today

Hyderabad experiences a slightly warmer February afternoon but pleasant nights. Minimums stay near 17°C, while maxima climb to about 30°C with an average of around 23°C and winds are light at 3.81 km/h from the east‑north‑east (around 89°) and gusts of 5.21 km/h while the 7‑day forecast shows temperatures edging up toward the mid‑30s by the weekend under dry skies.

Karnataka Weather Today

Across Karnataka, especially North and Coastal Karnataka, February remains dry and sun‑drenched likely to reach 29-33degrees Celsius on Thursday. Winter and early spring deficits have left rainfall far below seasonal norms, aggravating moisture stress in some farming belts. Residents can expect mostly clear days with moderate daytime heat and cooler nights, mirroring broader southern‑India dryness patterns before monsoon onset.

Uttar Pradesh Weather Today

In Uttar Pradesh exemplifies the calm, dry north‑Indian winter and today’s temperature rests between a minimum of about 14°C and a maximum near 27°C, averaging around 16°C with winds of roughly 5.75 km/h from the north‑west (293°) and gusts to about 7.16 km/h while temperatures are projected to rise further through the week, edging toward the high‑20s and low‑30s.

Rajasthan Weather Today

Rajasthan’s interior plains stay dry and increasingly warm during the day records a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 27°C today with a mean around 17°C, supported by a light breeze of 3.53 km/h from a near‑northern direction and gusts close to 4 km/h where the 7‑day outlook indicates temperatures soaring into the low‑30s early next week under persistent sunshine.

Jammu and Kashmir Weather Today

Jammu and Kashmir’s valleys stay cold, while higher reaches dip far below freezing. In Srinagar, minimums plunge to −22°C with maxima only around −6°C, giving an average of about −13°C and the air remains barely stirred with winds at 1.94 km/h from 257° (west‑south‑west) and gusts of 2.51 km/h. Despite the frigid numbers, snowfall is expected only in patches on the days flagged by IMD’s western‑disturbance alerts.

Punjab Weather Today

Punjab’s plains are currently under dry, breezy conditions with mild winter warmth records a minimum of 12°C and a maximum near 23°C with an average of about 15°C and winds of roughly 5.15 km/h from 288° (north‑west) and gusts up to 7.05 km/h. IMD warns that although the state is dry today, some locations in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh may see isolated thunderstorms and drizzle between the 16th and 17th, bringing brief breaks in the dry spell.

Ahmedabad Weather Today

Ahmedabad’s winter days have already grown noticeably warm where today’s minimum stands near 21°C, rising to about 33°C during the day, with an average around 24°C; winds blow at roughly 5.89 km/h from 80° (east‑north‑east) and gusts to 10.52 km/h where the 7‑day forecast keeps peak temperatures in the mid‑30s through the weekend, reinforcing the trend of a warmer than usual February for Gujarat.
