The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for several parts of the country as a low pressure area develops over the North Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds to multiple states over the next few days.Â
The IMD has warned of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in 22 states over the next 12 hours. The affected states include Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. According to the weather department, the rain is being triggered by a low-pressure area forming over the North Bay of Bengal.

Despite cloudy skies, Delhi is not expected to receive significant rainfall over the next few days. The IMD has forecast maximum temperatures of around 38°C and minimum temperatures near 28°C, with humid conditions likely to continue throughout the week.
Which Parts Of Uttar Pradesh Will Receive Heavy Rain?
Several districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and strong winds. The districts include Lucknow, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, Etawah, Jalaun, Banda, Agra, Auraiya and Hamirpur.
What Is The Weather Forecast For Bihar?
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Kishanganj and Araria on Wednesday. Light to moderate rain is also expected in Samastipur, East Champaran, West Champaran, Saran, Jamui, Banka, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Saharsa, Begusarai, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Madhubani and Sitamarhi.
