West Bengal Elections 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled six major guarantees for West Bengal ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at a public rally, he promised a crackdown on corruption, reopening of pending cases, refugee rights and the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, alongside plans to boost the fisheries and seafood sectors for economic self-reliance.

PM Modi outlined six key pledges:

  1. Restore Trust and Rule of Law: PM Modi promised to replace the existing atmosphere of fear under the TMC regime with a system based on trust, fairness and accountability, ensuring that citizens regain confidence in government institutions.

  2. Administrative Accountability: Under a BJP government, all administrative machinery will be fully answerable to the public it serves with transparency in decision-making and efficient governance across departments.

  3. Reopen Corruption and Scam Cases: All files related to scams, corruption and injustices, including those against women and students will be reopened to ensure justice and legal accountability for past misdeeds.

  4. Equal Enforcement of Law: Every individual involved in wrongdoing, whether a minister, official or staffer will face legal action and no TMC-affiliated person will be allowed to evade the law.

  5. Rights for Refugees & Action Against Infiltrators: Genuine refugees will receive all constitutional rights and privileges while illegal infiltrators will be identified and removed from the state to maintain law and order.

  6. Implementation of 7th Pay Commission: Immediately after forming a BJP government in West Bengal, the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented for state employees, ensuring fair salaries and benefits aligned with central government standards.
