The Delhi June 6 protest organised by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has forced his family to move out of their house in Maharashtra to a location whose whereabouts remain undisclosed, citing fear of danger and increasing attention and scrutiny. Police officers have been posted outside the house, although it is vacant, in the MIDC Waluj area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The move comes just days before the 30-year-old activist based in Boston is expected to return to India for a protest planned in New Delhi.

Reports say Dipke’s parents moved out after the movement initiated by the 2020–2021 founder of Cockroach Janta Party attracted a growing focus on the family and their son. However, the family has not yet disclosed where they are now.

But the activist’s father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, said his family did not receive any direct threats. His concerns stem from the increasing attention on the campaign, and what it could mean for the 30-year-old activist after he returns to India.

What Did Abhijeet Dipke’s Father Say?

A retired engineer with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Bhagwanrao Dipke said he used to be skeptical of his son going into public activism.

“As a father, I have obvious concerns,” he said. He added that he had once convinced Abhijeet to pause his campaign plans. Dipke said he could finally accept his son’s decision and that the family did not want to advise him on any such matter going forward.

He also said Abhijeet is aware of legal boundaries, and assured the family that he will not cross any lines during his campaign.

Abhijeet Dipke Expecting Arrest Upon His Return

Dipke, who is currently in Boston, has publicly said that he believes he could face arrest after returning to India. In a video message shared earlier this month, he said he was prepared for such a possibility.

Human rights activist and advocate Asim Sarode, who recently spoke with Dipke, said the CJP founder is ready to be arrested if necessary. According to Sarode, Dipke views issues surrounding national entrance examinations as affecting not only students but also millions of parents across the country.

June 6:  CJP’s grand debut protest in Delhi

Cockroach Janta Party has announced a protest march on June 6, beginning from the airport and proceeding to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The movement is focused on alleged irregularities and paper leaks in examinations such as NEET, CUET, and CBSE-related tests. The party is demanding accountability in the education system and has called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

Ahead of the protest, CJP appointed investigative journalist Saurav Das, filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya, and former management consultant Ashutosh Ranka as spokespersons to lead public outreach and mobilise support. The national capital is waiting to witness one of the biggest protests of young generation.
