Following reports of vandalism and assault at the coaching centre run by popular educator Khan Sir in Patna, Khan has alleged that individuals linked to a rival coaching institute could be behind the attack. He claimed that the rivalry stems from the massive success and affordability of his tuition programmes. Miscreants vandalised Khan’s office and opened fire, injuring a security guard. As news of the incident spread, students and supporters of Khan assembled outside the coaching centre, prompting the police to step up security measures in the area and initiate efforts to arrest the accused.
Who Is Khan Sir’s Rival Coaching Centre?
Reports indicate that Khan’s coaching centre does not have one specific rival, as the Musallahpur Haat area in Patna, Bihar, is home to several institutes run by different educators. However, Khan alleged that the friction intensified after the recently announced Bihar Police recruitment results, where a large number of his students qualified. He believes the rivalry comes from nearby coaching centres whose students failed to clear the exam. “Classes had just ended. The results of the Bihar Police recruitment had come out and thousands of our students qualified. We were tired, and then some anti-social elements arrived, started threatening us, and beat up the guards. They seem to be associated with a coaching institute,” Khan said.
Police Examining Key Suspects; Investigation Underway
Patna City SP Diksha stated that investigators are currently examining all available evidence, including video footage of the incident. “The individuals involved appear to be associated with the coaching centre located across the street. Everything is currently being verified; formal complaints are being recorded, and further proceedings are underway,” she said. According to the police, 10 to 12 individuals have been identified as potential suspects. They added that the injured guard was rushed to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
