A 45-year-old Punjabi-origin social media influencer and YouTuber, Nancy Grewal, was fatally stabbed in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She was widely known for her outspoken views on Punjab-related political and religious issues and had built a presence online through strong commentary on current affairs.

Who was Nancy Grewal?

Nancy Grewal was originally from Ludhiana. According to her earlier public posts, she studied in Sirsa and later attended Satluj Public School. She also mentioned completing her higher studies at a national college, as described on her Facebook profile. Before moving to the Windsor/LaSalle region in Ontario, Nancy Grewal had been living in Calgary, Alberta. Local reports described her as a Punjabi-origin YouTuber, although details about her exact online following and content style vary across sources.

Nancy Grewal’s Social Media Presence and Political Views

Nancy Grewal was known for openly expressing her opinions on developments in Punjab and the broader India–Canada relationship. She had criticised jailed MP Amritpal Singh, Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and Dera Beas chief Gurinder Singh Dhillon.

She was also vocal during the India–Canada diplomatic tensions and strongly condemned Khalistani supporters. Her commentary included remarks about Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, particularly regarding Canada’s handling of separatist-related matters.

In June 2025, Nancy Grewal had also raised concerns after social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was found dead in Bathinda.

Nancy Grewal Stabbing Incident in Windsor

According to the LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 pm. When they arrived, they found Nancy Grewal with severe stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services but later died due to her injuries.

In a statement shared on social media, police said, “The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal.” Authorities have described the case as an isolated incident to reassure the public.

The fatal attack occurred about two weeks after the region recorded its first homicide of 2026.

Nancy Grewal Homicide Investigation Update

Police have confirmed Nancy Grewal’s identity and classified the case as a homicide. However, officials have not yet confirmed whether any suspect has been arrested, nor have they disclosed a motive. The investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators are urging residents in the area to provide any surveillance footage, including dashcam or doorbell camera recordings, that may help in solving the case. Anyone with relevant information has been asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor or Crime Stoppers.

Authorities have stated that there is currently no evidence of a broader threat to public safety related to Nancy Grewal’s death.
