The sudden death of well-known Kathavachak Sadhvi Prem Baisa from western Rajasthan has shocked many people and raised several serious questions. She was found dead under suspicious circumstances on January 28, 2026, at her ashram in Jodhpur. A few hours later, a post described as a suicide note appeared on social media, making the case even more mysterious. Police have now started a detailed investigation.
Sadhvi Prem Baisa was a popular religious storyteller (Kathavachak) known in western Rajasthan for her spiritual discourses and dedication to Sanatan Dharma. She had a large following and was respected by many devotees. She often spoke about faith, tradition, and spiritual values, and had connections with well-known religious figures.
However, in recent months, she was also in the news due to controversies and personal stress linked to allegations and disputes with some former associates.
According to her family, Sadhvi Prem Baisa had been unwell for two days. On January 28, a person was called to the ashram to give her an injection. Her condition reportedly worsened soon after the injection. Her father said she became unconscious following it.
She was taken to Preksha Hospital on Pal Road, where doctors declared her dead. Hospital director Dr. Praveen Jain said she was “brought dead.” As per procedure, the hospital informed Shastri Nagar police and advised the family to shift the body to MDM Hospital. But instead, the family took her body back to the ashram in Boranada.
After getting information, Sub-Inspector Hemraj from Boranada police station reached the ashram and sealed her room. Later at night, the body was finally sent to MDM Hospital for a post-mortem by a medical board.
The case took a strange turn when a post appeared on her social media account around 9:30 pm nearly four hours after her death. The message looked like a suicide note and mentioned “Agni Pariksha,” “Goodbye,” and “Justice.”
"I have lived every single moment for the propagation of Sanatan Dharma... Throughout my life, I received the blessings of Adi Jagadguru Shankaracharya, the world's yoga gurus, and revered saints and sages. I wrote letters to Adi Guru Shankaracharya and many great saints and sages of the country, requesting a trial by fire, but what did nature have in store?" the caption read.
"I am bidding farewell to this world forever, but I have complete faith in God and the revered saints and sages. If not in my lifetime, then after my death, I will surely receive justice," it added.
Police are now checking who had access to her social media account and whether the post was scheduled earlier or uploaded by someone else.
There are also questions about the family’s actions. Her father reportedly hesitated to file a police complaint and did not immediately agree to a post-mortem. He also refused the hospital ambulance and took the body to the ashram in his personal vehicle. No formal complaint has been filed against the person who gave the injection.
Police say a medical board post-mortem is necessary to legally determine the exact cause of death whether it was due to a reaction to the injection or some other reason.
Investigators are also looking at an older dispute from about six months ago. Sadhvi Prem Baisa had accused former staff members of blackmail and defamation. Sources say she had been under stress since July last year after a controversial video showed her hugging her guru/father, which led to allegations of harassment and a registered case.
At that time, she had publicly said she was ready for any “Agni Pariksha” (trial by fire) to prove her innocence. Now, police are trying to connect all these events to understand what really happened behind her mysterious death.
