Music composer and singer Palash Muchhal has filed a ₹10 crore defamation case against Marathi actor and producer Vidnyan Mane. Muchhal has strongly denied claims that he cheated Mane of ₹40 lakh and dismissed the personal accusations made about his private life.
Muchhal said the allegations were made intentionally to harm his image, both personally and professionally. The legal action comes at a time when his personal life is already under attention, especially after reports that his wedding plans with cricketer Smriti Mandhana were recently cancelled.
Taking to social media, Muchhal confirmed that his lawyer had sent a legal notice to Mane over the "false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations" made against him.
Why Palash Muchhal & Vidnyan Mane Dispute Turned Into Legal Battle
According to reports, the issue started on December 5, 2023, when Vidnyan Mane met Muchhal in Sangli. Mane reportedly showed interest in investing in film production. He claims Muchhal persuaded him to put money into a film project titled Nazaria, promising a return of ₹12 lakh profit on a ₹25 lakh investment after the movie’s release on OTT platforms. Mane also said he was offered a role in the film.
Mane alleges that by March 2025, he had paid a total of ₹40 lakh. However, the film was never completed. He claims that when he asked for his money back, he received no response.
Apart from the financial dispute, Mane also accused Muchhal of being unfaithful during his relationship with Smriti Mandhana.
Muchhal has firmly rejected all these accusations. He stated that the claims are completely false and were made only to damage his reputation. So far, no police FIR has been registered in the matter.
Additional Personal Allegations on Palash Muchhal
Vidnyan Mane further claimed, he attended wedding-related functions and made serious personal accusations. on Friday, January 24 2026. He alleged that Palash was caught cheating on Smriti.
“I was at the wedding celebrations (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me," Mane said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Mane also said he is Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend and was introduced to Palash by her family. He has accused Muchhal of cheating him of more than ₹40 lakh and has reportedly filed a complaint in Sangli.
Palash Muchhal’s Response
Reacting to the controversy, Palash posted a statement on Instagram Stories. He wrote,
“In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are entirely baseless and factually incorrect. They have been made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation, and they will not go unchallenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through the appropriate legal channels," he added.
Muchhal has made it clear that he will fight the matter legally and denies all wrongdoing.
