A Bhopal Court on Saturday sent Twisha Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh, booked in an alleged case of dowry demand, to seven-day police custody. Samarth Singh withdrew his anticipatory bail plea from the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday (May 22).

As per PTI report, Singh was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class Anudita Gupta in Bhopal who remanded him to 7-day police custody.

Meanwhile, a police officer arrived at the residence of Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of deceased Twisha Sharma, in Bhopal on Saturday and said he had come to serve a High Court notice in connection with the case.

Speaking to reporters outside the residence, the officer said, “I have brought a High Court notice.”

When asked whether the notice was for Giribala Singh, he replied, “Yes.”

Later, while leaving the residence after giving her (Giribala Singh) a notice, the Police officer told reporters, “This was a High Court notice. My senior officers will tell you more.”

Meanwhile, Siddharth Singh, brother of the prime accused Samarth Singh, Twisha Sharma’s husband, and an accused in the case, was seen leaving the residence along with a team of lawyers.

The development comes amid the ongoing investigation into the Twisha Sharma death case, in which the Madhya Pradesh government has already recommended a CBI probe.

Earlier on Friday, the prime accused in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, her husband Samarth Singh, was taken into police custody and will be produced before a court within 24 hours, police said.
