The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of a distressing incident in which a 21-year-old tribal woman in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district suffered molestation and public humiliation as she was forcibly disrobed, with the culprits recording this horrific act.
Shockingly, it is alleged that the incident transpired on 31st August i.e., two days ago, yet the local police have not yet taken cognizance of the matter.
In response to these troubling developments, the Commission has conducted a preliminary assessment and determined that the crime committed falls within the purview of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
