New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has filed a supplementary charge sheet against CP Moideen, a senior leader of the banned CPI (Maoist), in a high-profile anti-India conspiracy case.

Known also as Girish, Moideen faces charges under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Indian Penal Code. According to the NIA’s investigation, Moideen played a key role in orchestrating Maoist activities aimed at waging war against the Indian government.

The investigation revealed that Moideen was a Special Zonal Committee Member of the Western Ghats Special Zonal Committee (WGSZC) of CPI (Maoist). After the arrest of Central Committee Member Sanjoy Deepak Rao in September 2023, Moideen assumed the role of Secretary of the WGSZC.

In this capacity, Moideen supervised the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) squads operating in the tri-junction area of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. He was responsible for recruitment drives, spreading Maoist ideology, and planning violent attacks on security forces, according to the NIA.

Moideen was initially taken into custody by Kerala Police in August 2024 before being formally arrested by the NIA in January 2025 under case number RC-01/2024/NIA/HYD.

The original case was registered by Telangana Police in September 2023 following the arrest of Sanjoy Deepak Rao, who was found carrying arms, ammunition, and Maoist literature.
