Patna: With open outburst by Rohini Acharya, daughter Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav about abuses hurled, three more daughters of his on Sunday moved out of the Patna home as the crisis in the family intensified, sources said.
The sources said that three more daughters of the RJD chief and former Bihar Chief Minister, Rajlakshmi, Ragini, and Chanda, left the family’s Patna residence with their children. The sources said that all of them travelled to Delhi.
There departure signal led widening gap in the Lalu family following the humiliating defeat in the just concluded assembly polls as the party could only manage to win 25 seats as compared to 75 seats it had won in 2020 assembly polls.
The internal rift in the Lalu family came to fore after Rohini Acharya, Lalu Prasad’s daughter, who is based in Singapore and is a doctor by profession, who had also donated her kidney on Saturday announced publicly that she was quitting politics and disowning her family.
Her surprise announcement came hours after the RJD’s election defeat in Bihar highlighting that everything was not alright in the biggest political family in the state.
In a series of posts on X, Rohini Acharya alleged that how she was subjected to abuses.
She also mentioned that that how someone even attempted to hit her with a slipper during a confrontation involving Sanjay Yadav, a party Rajya Sabha MP and Rameez, both close aide of her younger brother Tejashwi Yadav.
She wrote that she was “torn away from her family”, left her parents “crying”, and was accused of having “taken crores” after donating a kidney to Lalu Yadav, a claim she called deeply insulting.
She also claimed that she was “cursed at” for donating a “dirty kidney” to her father in exchange for money and a party ticket, Rohini Acharya said she had been “made an orphan” and urged married women not to “save your God-like father if he has a son.”
She also hoped “no household gives birth to a girl with a fate like that of Rohini.”
The trouble in Lalu family began first with the expulsion of Tej Pratap Yadav as he floated his own party.
Just before the schedule of assembly election, Rohini Acharya had hinted that how everything was not good in the party as well as family due to Tejashwi's over reliance on Sanjay Yadav.
