Srinagar airport will have night flights

In a move that is likely to boost tourism, the Indian Air Force has said it will allow night operations from Srinagar airport for tourists. The IAF has also agreed to vacate the airbase in Leh so that the civilian airport will get the much required expansion and increase tourist footfall in the Ladakh region. The night operations at Srinagar airport will boost the tourist traffic as tourists had been demanding night flights for visiting Kashmir. “It would be a big boost to bring high level conference organisers to Kashmir, once night operations are started,” said a senior Tourist official.
