Mehbooba, Omar spat on twitter over sainik colony

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and the state’s opposition leader Omar Abdullah of National Conference are locked in a bitter Twitter war over Sainik colony in the valley even though the coalition government of PDP-BJP has clarified that no land has been allotted for the proposed colony.
Omar Abdullah recently said on Twitter, “@mehbooba_mufti you have accused me of rumour mongering and uploading fake images of government orders on SM (social media). I dare you to file a case today”.
The former CM further tweeted: “If you have the guts to truly believe this image (document about allotment) is fake file a case against me in the nearest police station”. Recently, some media reports stated that the state government has decided to establish Sainik colony for ex-Army men in Kashmir. The government dismissed the news as rumour. But soon Omar claimed that he has a copy of a government order for building Sainik colony.
Mehbooba Mufti responded by saying that according to official files, it was Omar as Chief Minister who had held the first meeting for establishing the said Sainik colony in Kashmir. Mehbooba clarified that even Governor N.N. Vohra had not taken any decision on allotment of the land in a meeting held by him on this issue during Central rule in Kashmir earlier this year.
Mehbooba said some vested elements were keen to disrupt peace in the valley and hence they were floating such rumour. She appealed to the youth to call her directly and seek clarification on any controversial issue instead of doing street demonstration. Mehbooba said rumours were being spread on the issue of NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) also, adding that a Supreme Court direction was being given political colour needlessly. She assured that no candidate can come to J&K state medical colleges as all seats were reserved for state subjects.
