Bad roads kill 3,416 in 2015

Potholes have contributed to 10,876 accidents on roads, out of which 3,416 were fatal, according to the Ministry of Transport and Highways data of 2015. Madhya Pradesh tops the list of states most affected by potholes. There, 3,070 accidents were caused by potholes alone last year, followed by Maharashtra with 1,867. However, in Maharashtra, the number of deaths due to potholes IS highest at 812. In Delhi 14 accidents were caused due to potholes, out of which two lost their lives.
