New Delhi: Amid talks of alliance in the southern state with MK Stalin led DMK, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be on a day visit to Tamil Nadu on Tuesday to attend the golden Jubilee celebrations of St Thomas High School.
The party leader said that he is scheduled to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of St Thomas English High School in Gudalur in the Nilgiris on January 13 at 3 p.m. and also attend the pongal programme there.
The party sources, meanwhile, also said he has no political agenda scheduled besides a reception hosted by Congress functionaries at the helipad.
Rahul Gandhi last visited Gudalur during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in September 2022, where he addressed a gathering of supporters, praising the beauty of the scenic town in the Western Ghats.
He stayed at a private school overnight before leaving for Karnataka.
The visit comes at a time when the party leaders are already in talks with Chief Minister MK Stalin led DMK in the southern state for alliance for the upcoming assembly elections later his year.
Many of the Congress leaders have demanded for power sharing in the southern state with the DMK. However, Stalin us yet to comment on the issue.
