Srinagar: In a significant crackdown under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Sopore Police have attached a residential property for its alleged role in providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists involved in anti-national activities.
The property includes a single-storey residential house and land measuring 3 kanals and 3 marlas, falling under Survey Nos. 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018, located at Reban Ramham. The property is owned by Javaid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, a resident of Reban Sopore.
The action is linked to FIR No. 133/2024, registered at Police Station Sopore under sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of the UAPA, along with section 7/25 of the Arms Act.
During the investigation, it was established that the property was deliberately used to shelter terrorists and facilitate their movement and operations in the Sopore region. Following the collection of substantial evidence and approval from the competent authority, police proceeded with the formal attachment as per legal provisions.
Sopore Police reaffirm their commitment to dismantling the terror ecosystem in the region not just by neutralizing operatives, but also by targeting those who support or shelter them.
The public is strongly advised to avoid providing any form of support—direct or indirect to terrorists or their affiliates. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved.
