Srinagar: A joint search operation launched by security forces led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition in the forest area of Doriban Madhama Awora in Kupwara district on Saturday.
Police sources said that, acting on specific intelligence input from UIC 98 Bn, personnel from CRPF 98 Battalion along with Jammu and Kashmir Police from PP Awora launched a cordon and search operation under the jurisdiction of Police Station Trehgam

Officials believe the recoveries may be linked to cross-border infiltration or hidden supply drops intended for militant use.
"A case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Trehgam. Investigations are ongoing to identify the handlers and trace any possible militant links,” the officials added.
Search operations in the area remain active.
