UDHAMPUR: In the midst of continuing anti-terror operations in the rugged Basantgarh area of Udhampur district, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma on Tuesday reached the forward location to personally review the situation and motivate the troops on ground.
Lt Gen Sharma interacted with soldiers engaged in the prolonged operation, taking stock of the terrain challenges and operational progress. His visit came as a major morale booster for the forces who have been conducting relentless searches in the dense forests and remote hill stretches of Basantgarh.
While appreciating the troops for their unwavering dedication and courage, the Army Commander assured them of full support and resources to sustain the ongoing efforts. “Your commitment and perseverance in tough conditions embody the finest traditions of the Indian Army. Keep up the same spirit until the operation reaches its successful conclusion,” he told the troops.
Security forces have intensified counter-terror operations in the area after receiving credible intelligence inputs about the movement of armed militants in recent days. The operation continues under tight coordination between the Army, Police, and other security agencies.
