Zubeen Garg's final film Roi Roi Binale has scripted history with a screening at 430 AM. The tickets of the film were booked in advance prior to the release for the next week. As such, the film owners had to increase the screenings.
Matrix Cinema Hall in Guwahati created history with the screening of "Roi Roi Binale" starring the legendary Zubeen Garg on 31st October 25. Similarly, several theatres have screned the movie more than 6 to 7 times in the day. Speaking to TSG, Rajeev Bora, Owner of GOld Cinemas credited Zubeen Garg for reviving Assamese cinema. "Not just today, if you see, Zubeen Garg is also responsible for reviving the cinema since 2017 when he made Mission China. Today, you see the crowd and the demeand and as a result of that we have increased the screen timings," added Bora.
The TSG team visited several theatres in the city during the early morning and spoke to emotional fans while coming out of the theatre. "I cant express what I am goinf thorugh. It's an emotional moment that I can't express. It is a mixed feeling to watch this movie because it has made me really emotional," said a girl who came all the way from Morigaon to watch the movie.
Speaking exclusively to TSG, Assam Minister Atul Bora stated that the public will always preserve the legacy of Zubeen Garg. "It is indeed a sad moment for the state because of the passing of Zubeen Garg. We will always remember the legacy of Zubeen Garg," added Bora.
Roi Roi Binale is expanding its reach beyond Assam, with screenings planned in cities like Lucknow, Indore, Patna, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Kochi, Jaipur, Surat, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Coimbatore, and Goa many of which will be showcasing an Assamese film for the very first time. There have even been screening requests from Nepal, though they are yet to be confirmed.
