NEW DELHI: Ayodhya, the eternal emblem of Sanatan culture, is poised to enchant the world with its splendor, devotion, and divine brilliance during this year's Deepotsav celebrations. The sacred birthplace of Lord Shri Ram is preparing to immerse itself in the radiant glow of millions of diyas, marking the triumphant return of Lord Ram to his holy city.

This grand celebration will not only illuminate Ayodhya with countless lamps but also fill the air with the fragrance of flowers and the spirit of purity, reaffirming its stature as the spiritual heart of India.

A record 26,11,101 lamps will adorn Ram Ki Paidi and 56 ghats, transforming Ayodhya into a celestial spectacle of light and devotion. This mesmerizing sight will showcase the city's divine magnificence and cultural grandeur on the global stage. On October 19, every ward of Ayodhya will join the celebration under the Municipal Corporation's mission to illuminate the entire city. Each councillor will distribute 1,500 lamps within their wards, ensuring that homes, temples, and markets gleam with divine radiance.

Prominent ghats such as Guptar Ghat and key roads like Rampath and Bhakti Path will be adorned with floral garlands, giving Ayodhya the appearance of a city awaiting the arrival of Lord Ram himself. To enhance the festive charm, mural paintings depicting scenes from Lord Ram's life are being created across major streets and public areas. Strip lighting is being installed along poles and buildings, including the iconic Rampath, while intersections will be decorated with floral and lighting arrangements. Temples and monasteries across wards are actively collaborating with the administration to light traditional diyas and uphold the Deepotsav spirit. Citizens are being encouraged to celebrate in an eco-friendly manner, making this a polythene-free and zero-waste festival that emphasises cleanliness and sustainability.

In anticipation of large crowds, authorities have arranged 30 mobile toilets with caretakers at strategic points. Following the evening aarti, 785 workers will handle lamp removal and sand sprinkling at the ghats. To ensure uninterrupted access to drinking water, 983 hand pumps have been repaired, leakages fixed, and chlorination systems activated at nine overhead tanks. Additionally, 30 water tankers, 56 cleaned TTSP tanks, 15 kiosks, 90 coolers, and 25 smart kiosks will provide safe drinking water throughout the festivities. Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar emphasised that maintaining cleanliness remains a top priority. Over 1,500 sanitation workers, supervised by 54 officers and supported by 1,546 additional personnel, are working tirelessly to keep Ayodhya spotless. Major roads such as Rampath, Dharampath, and Bhakti Path, along with key venues like Ram Ki Paidi and Ramkatha Park, are undergoing intensive cleaning drives. Shop owners and local businesses are also joining hands to illuminate commercial zones and maintain a festive ambiance.

The Deepotsav of Ayodhya stands as a radiant symbol of faith, unity, and devotion, celebrating the city's deep-rooted spiritual and cultural legacy. With its awe-inspiring illumination, floral beauty, and commitment to cleanliness, Ayodhya is ready to unveil a magnificent celebration that reflects the divine glory, devotion, and timeless essence of Lord Shri Ram's Deepotsav.
