Samba, July 12: In a major breakthrough against the illegal arms network in Jammu region, Samba Police has arrested a B.Tech student from Bihar for allegedly selling illegal weapons to criminals in Jammu and Samba districts.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Vijaypur Police of Samba district conducted a swift raid and apprehended Kaif Ahmad, a resident of Bihar who was pursuing B.Tech at the Central University of Jammu.

During the operation, a pistol was recovered from Kaif’s possession. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Kaif was actively involved in supplying illegal weapons to anti-social elements across the region.

“A case has been registered and further interrogation of the accused is currently underway to identify his associates and uncover the broader network,” a senior police official confirmed.

The arrest raises serious questions about the infiltration of criminal activities even within educational campuses, prompting heightened vigilance by the security agencies.
