Blast in Mohali based Oxygen cylinder plant, two casualties reported

Blast at Hi-Tech Gas plant in Mohali kills 2, injures several. Authorities probe cause amid repeated cylinder explosion incidents in the region.

Chandigarh: There are reports of a major explosion in Mohali, Punjab. The incident occurred at an oxygen gas cylinder factory where a powerful blast claimed the lives of two people. Around half a dozen others are reported to have been injured in the accident.

The factory is identified as Hi-Tech Gas Private Limited, located in Phase 9. It is noteworthy that Mohali has witnessed cylinder explosion incidents in the past as well.

For instance, on November 27, 2024, two individuals were injured in a blast during illegal cylinder refilling in a village in Mohali.

Similarly, on July 3, 2025, three people, including a nine-month-old baby, died in an explosion caused by a 5 kg LPG cylinder at a factory in Mohali’s Phase 5 Industrial Area.
