New Delhi: In a major capacity-building milestone, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will induct 11,729 newly trained Constable/GD recruits into the force on 15 November 2025, marking one of the most substantial expansions in its recent history. The recruits, graduating from six Regional Training Centres (RTCs) situated across the country, will contribute to an 8% rise in the CISF’s overall operational strength.
The Passing Out Parades for the new personnel were held concurrently at RTCs in Barwaha(Madhya Pradesh), Deoli (Rajasthan), Behror (Rajasthan), Thakkolam (Tamil Nadu), Bhilai(Chhattisgarh), and Mundali (Odisha), reflecting the nationwide scale of the induction drive.
This reinforcement of manpower comes soon after the Ministry of Home Affairs approved an increase in the CISF’s sanctioned strength to 2.2 lakh personnel. The CISF, which safeguards more than 360 critical installations—including airports, seaports, nuclear facilities, space establishments, metro networks, steel plants and units located in high-risk zones—stands to gain a major operational advantage through this induction.
The addition of new recruits will also help address manpower shortages at several recently added, high-priority installations such as Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport, Bhakra Dam and other critical infrastructure projects that have come under CISF security cover. These emerging sites demand immediate and robust deployment capacity, which the new intake will significantly bolster.
According to officials, the deployment of the newly inducted personnel has been finalised after a comprehensive and data-driven evaluation of several parameters. These included the threat perception at each unit, the extent of public movement, the required men–women ratio, specific operational needs across sectors and the educational or technical proficiencies of the recruits. This systematic assessment enabled the CISF to fulfil nearly 90% of manpower requirements across key sensitive locations, including Jammu & Kashmir, Left-Wing Extremism (LWE)–affected regions and major operational divisions such as airports and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
Among the total recruits, 1,896 are women personnel. Considering operational priorities and current vacancies, a significant proportion of them will be deployed at airports and DMRC units, where the role of women is indispensable in passenger frisking, security screening and associated duties. Their presence will help ensure seamless, gender-balanced security operations at some of India’s busiest travel hubs.
Additionally, recruits possessing graduate-level education or technical qualifications have been prioritised for airport postings. These roles require a higher degree of technical capability due to the sophisticated nature of modern security infrastructure, including advanced screening technologies, automated systems and technology-driven operational protocols that demand skilled and adaptable personnel.
With this extensive augmentation, the CISF is set to further expand its footprint across India’s most sensitive, high-traffic and strategically important installations. The force aims to continue delivering secure, efficient and technology-enabled protection to the nation’s critical infrastructure, strengthening its position as a vital pillar of India’s internal security framework.
