Ninety personnel deployed to strengthen security at key diplomatic complex.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), in New Delhi on Thursday, with an authorised strength of 90 personnel taking over security responsibilities at the premises.

The CISF kote at the facility was inaugurated by Tarun Kumar, IPS, Joint Secretary (Personnel), Ministry of External Affairs, in the presence of G. Sivakumar, IPS, Deputy Inspector General, CGBS, CISF, Manoj Yadav, Director, Bureau of Security, Neeraj Kumar, Commandant (Operations), and senior officials from both the CISF and MEA.

With the deployment, one of the country’s key diplomatic establishments has been brought under CISF security cover as the force expands its mandate across critical and sensitive government infrastructure.

The CISF is tasked with protecting critical infrastructure and strategic installations across the country, including airports, nuclear facilities, government buildings and other sensitive establishments.

Officials said the induction is aimed at strengthening the security architecture at the MEA headquarters, which houses key divisions involved in India’s diplomatic and foreign policy operations.

The move adds Sushma Swaraj Bhawan to the growing list of sensitive installations secured by the paramilitary force as security requirements for strategic institutions continue to evolve.
