CM Saini Joins Aaj Samaj’s 20th Anniversary Event

Haryana CM Saini, former Union Ministers, MPs, and state leaders from Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh attended the event.

CHANDIGARH: A function was organised on Saturday at the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh to mark the 20th anniversary of Aaj Samaj, a leading and prestigious Hindi daily newspaper in North India. The event drew prominent personalities from politics, social service, arts, sports, and other sectors across Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.

A cake-cutting ceremony was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Union Minister Venod Sharma, MP Kartikeya Sharma, BJP MLA from Kalka Shakti Rani Sharma, and other dignitaries. Congratulating the employees of iTV Network and Aaj Samaj on their milestone, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised the newspaper for its consistent excellence in print media and noted its growing presence on digital platforms. He further highlighted that India News and NewsX channels, part of the iTV Network, have set new benchmarks for honest and transparent journalism in electronic media. He added that he regularly reads Aaj Samaj and is a frequent viewer of both news channels.

Several prominent political figures from the three states also shared the stage at the event. From Haryana, attendees included BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, Cabinet Ministers Ranbir Gangwa, Aarti Rao, Shruti Choudhary, and Krishan Lal Panwar, Congress State President Rao Narendra, Minister of State Krishan Bedi, former Speaker of Haryana Assembly Kuldeep Sharma, INLD President Abhay Chautala, MP Subhash Barala, AAP leader and MP Anurag Dhanda, and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.

Artists who have contributed to Haryana’s cultural legacy were also part of the programme, including singers Masoom Sharma and Mahavir Guddu, and actor Yashpal Sharma.

From Punjab, attendees included Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Sandhwan, Cabinet Ministers Tarunpreet Singh, Aman Arora (also Punjab Aam Aadmi Party President), Dr Balbir Singh, Barinder Goyal, and Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Pratap Bajwa, Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Daljit Cheema, and MP Satnam Singh Sandhu.

From Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Cabinet Ministers Vikramaditya Singh, Harshwardhan Chauhan, and Rajesh Dharmani, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Pathania, Himachal Congress President Viplove Thakur, Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Himachal BJP President Rajeev Bindal, and MP Rajeev Bhardwaj and Suresh Kashyap attended the event.
