CHANDIGARH: Several political stalwarts, artists, and prominent figures from other fields from Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh participated in a conclave held in Chandigarh to mark the 20th anniversary of Aaj Samaj newspaper, one of the leading newspapers in North India. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini congratulated Aaj Samaj on this occasion, stating that the print media newspaper is continuously setting new benchmarks and has consistently raised social issues with impartiality.

Addressing the conclave, he said, “It is essential for a healthy democracy that the opposition’s views are heard, but often the opposition comes up with baseless claims without any factual basis, which is a matter of serious concern. We are apt and listen to valid points raised by the opposition and take appropriate steps, but there is no point in baseless claims.”

He further added that the opposition alleged Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister for a third consecutive term would be a threat to the Constitution. “What does this even mean? These allegations have no ground or basis. A few days ago, the opposition made baseless claims of vote rigging against the BJP, alleging fake votes were cast, but these claims are meaningless. The opposition always resorts to lying. The no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against the government last time was also without any justification. In the assembly, the opposition makes false allegations, but when it’s time to hear the government’s response, they walk out of the House.”

On whether the BJP received a clear mandate for the first time under his leadership, he said the opposition has consistently supported corruption and promoted it. Before the elections, the public felt that if the Congress government came to power in Haryana, administrative transparency would decline and corruption would increase. Congress tried to establish the narrative that their party would come to power, but all their claims proved baseless. Several Congress candidates had openly said they would fill their own pockets first if elected, and Rahul Gandhi even began his election campaign from the same location. Regarding anti-party sentiment and anti-incumbency in Haryana, he said there was none; otherwise, the BJP would not have been elected for the third time. Congress spread misinformation on a large scale, but the public countered their propaganda. He added that in 2027, the BJP is likely to form the government for the fourth consecutive term with a large mandate.

On BJP’s election promises, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that before the BJP government was formed for the third time, 217 resolutions had been made in the manifesto, 83 of which have already been fulfilled, and work is ongoing on the rest. Looking at the 2014 and 2019 manifestos, all promises were fulfilled, while Congress failed to deliver. Kidney patients now receive completely free dialysis, relieving them of a significant financial burden. He further stated that Congress had promised 200,000 jobs, and candidates were even offering jobs in exchange for votes. People realized that Congress would bring corruption back. Due to Election Commission objections, job results were not released before elections, but once results were declared, the BJP fulfilled its promises immediately. The Ladli Lakshmi Yojana was also implemented within a year, empowering women economically with direct bank transfers. Additionally, ownership rights were granted to residents living in the same place for 20 years. In one year, 34,000 youth were provided jobs, and 8,000 more posts will be filled soon, with applications continuously invited.

Chief Minister Saini emphasized that priority is given to Haryana youth in jobs while strictly following rules. Haryana youth are getting jobs in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and other states. Regarding jobs for candidates from outside Haryana, he said the opposition spreads lies.
