New Delhi:Â With eyes on Good performance in upcoming elections in four states and one Union Territory, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday approved the appointment of senior observers with former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and others.Â
Congress has named Baghel,Shivakumar and Bandhu Tirkey as senior observer for Assam.Â
Similarly, the party named Pilot, KJ George, Imran Pratapgarhi and Kanhaiya Kumar as senior observer for Kerala.Â
For Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the party named Mukul Wasnik, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin as senior observers and for the state of West Bengal the party has named Sudip Roy Barman, Shakeel Ahmed Khan and Prakash Joshi as senior observers.Â
The development comes days after the grand old party had already announced the Screening Committee for the poll bound states.Â
Congress has already named Gandhi scion Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the chairman of the Screening Committee for Assam, while veteran party leader Madhusudan Mistry named chairman for Kerala, senior party leaders TS Singh Deo named chairperson for Anil Nadu and Puducherry and BJP Hariprasad as chairperson for West Bengal.Â
Besides Priyanka Gandhi, party also named Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Imran Masood and Dr. Sirivella Prasad as member for Assam.Â
Similarly, besides Mistry, the party named Syed Naseer Hussain, Neeraj Dangi and Abhishek Dutt as member for Kerala.Â
In Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the party had named Yashomati Thakur, G.C. Chandrashekhar and Anil Kumar Yadav as members of screening committee.Â
Similarly, in West Bengal the party had named Mohammad Jawed, Mamta Devi and B.P. Singh as members of the Screening Committee.Â
