New Delhi: In a significant move toward advancing digital governance, the Delhi Legislative Assembly will conduct a three-day training program on the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) for all Hon’ble Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). Scheduled from July 21 to July 23, 2025, the initiative aims to equip legislators with the necessary skills and understanding to effectively navigate the digital platform ahead of the upcoming monsoon session. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta recently inspected the newly established training facility located within the Assembly premises. Constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD), the modern training centre includes 18 to 20 computer terminals, enabling MLAs to engage hands-on with the platform’s tools and features. The sessions will be led by subject-matter experts from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA), who will provide detailed instruction on NeVA’s capabilities. Lawmakers will be trained in accessing legislative documents digitally, tracking Assembly proceedings in real time, submitting questions and motions electronically, and utilizing other essential digital functions aimed at enhancing legislative efficiency.

“This initiative is a crucial step in digitising the legislative process, which will improve transparency, strengthen accountability, and increase operational efficiency,” said Speaker Gupta. “It also aligns strongly with the core objectives of the Digital India campaign.”

NeVA is designed to create a paperless legislative environment, supporting both sustainability and modern governance. With this move, Delhi joins a growing number of states adopting digital tools to modernize legislative procedures. The monsoon session will mark the first time Delhi Assembly fully integrates NeVA into its daily operations.  The program serves as a step to ensure legislators are ready for seamless digital transition.
