NEW DELHI: In the span of just one month, the Delhi Police have successfully traced and reunited over a hundred missing individuals across the capital. According to officials, the South-West District Police alone managed to locate and restore 106 missing persons, including 31 children and 75 adults, to their families under the banner of Operation Milap during September 2025.

Notably, Operation Milap, a flagship initiative of the Delhi Police, is specifically aimed at tracking down missing or kidnapped persons and ensuring their safe return.

Between September 1 and September 30, 2025, the South-West District Police carried out rigorous search operations using a blend of modern technology, intensive field investigations, and collaborative efforts with the community. The dedicated police teams examined CCTV footage, carried out door-to-door verifications, and circulated photographs of missing children and adults across local hubs such as auto stands, e-rickshaw points, bus depots, and railway stations. Informal yet crucial networks including bus drivers, conductors, hawkers, and other vendors were actively approached for information that could help in tracing those missing. In addition, local informers were engaged, while records of nearby police stations and hospitals were thoroughly scrutinized to widen the scope of the search.

As per official data, the impact of these initiatives has been remarkable. From January 1 to September 30, 2025, the South-West District Police have succeeded in tracing as many as 1037 missing individuals, comprising 337 children and 700 adults, a feat that underlines their sustained dedication to public safety and social responsibility. The achievements of September alone further demonstrate their effectiveness and commitment.

Police stations across the South-West District recorded significant breakthroughs during the month. The staff of PS Sagarpur recovered 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls) along with 25 adults (14 males and 11 females), while PS Kapashera traced 10 children (6 boys and 4 girls) in addition to 10 adults (5 males and 5 females).
