Jammu: This Independence Day is unlike any other — it’s the first since the Indian Army’s decisive and high-impact Operation Sindoor, which dismantled nine terror camps, eleven air bases, and several Pakistani military positions across the border. While the rest of the nation soaks in the spirit of its 79th Independence Day, the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir remains a zone of intense vigilance, with soldiers maintaining round-the-clock readiness.

According to security agencies, Pakistan’s Special Operations Group and terror outfits in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) could attempt infiltration during the national celebrations. Intelligence inputs have prompted the Army to strengthen its operational posture along the LoC, with increased foot patrols, intensive jungle search missions, and swift-response combat operations.

The Army’s strategy now goes deep into the thick forests and rugged mountains where militants often hide. Using ATVs, Mahindra Armado all-terrain vehicles, and robotic mules, troops are reaching inaccessible areas with ease. These technologies are proving vital in transporting weapons, monitoring hostile zones, and tracking enemy movement while minimising risk to soldiers.

The operational momentum from Operation Sindoor hasn’t slowed. Soldiers of the Indian Army who struck enemy positions with accurate bombing during the recent operation are once again ready with pinpoint targets to neutralise hostile positions and deter further aggression. Surveillance drones, coupled with high-definition camera systems along the LoC, ensure that every move across the border is monitored in real time.

Specialised Bunker Busting Teams remain on standby, trained to breach and capture enemy fortifications within minutes if political clearance is given. Along the fencing, soldiers equipped with state-of-the-art weapons maintain their watch, undeterred by thick fog, heavy rain, or the challenging terrain.
The Command and Control Centres stationed along the LoC act as the operational nerve centres collating intelligence, coordinating troop movements, and enabling swift, targeted strikes when necessary.

For the people of India, Independence Day is a celebration of freedom. For the soldiers on the LoC, it is a day of to silent commitment — eyes fixed on the horizon, fingers steady on the trigger, and a promise that no threat will breach the nation’s borders.
