Holy Mace of Lord Shiva Reaches Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar Amid Ongoing Amarnath Yatra

The sacred ‘Chhari Mubarak’ reached Srinagar’s Shankaracharya Temple during Amarnath Yatra, drawing large crowds of devotees and highlighting Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural unity.

SRINAGAR: As part of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the revered ‘Chhari Mubarak’ the holy mace of Lord Shiva reached the historic Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar.

The ceremonial procession began from Dashnami Akhara under the supervision of Mahant Dipendra Giri, the traditional custodian of the holy mace. A special ‘Chhari Pujan’ was held at the temple, with a large number of devotees in attendance, offering prayers and seeking blessings.

The Shankaracharya Temple, a significant spiritual landmark in Kashmir, witnessed heavy footfall of pilgrims during the special event, as chants of devotion echoed across the premises.

So far, nearly 3.5 lakh yatris have paid obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine of Amarnath and performed darshan of the naturally formed ice Shivlingam. The yatra continues to see enthusiastic participation from across the country.

The annual pilgrimage not only symbolizes deep spiritual devotion but also showcases Kashmir’s rich religious heritage and cultural unity.
