NEW DELHI: India could create another history in the space sector in December 2026. India can now surpass many countries in the world of space technology and AI.
Following the example of SpaceX, Indian startup NeovCloud and Chennai-based Agnikul Cosmos are ready to launch India’s first private orbital AI data center into space, with work progressing rapidly on all parameters.
The first glimpse of this data center was given by Bengaluru-based startup NeovCloud during the AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. The company claims that it will save costs and speed up data flow. Furthermore, it will be more secure than ground-based data centers during natural disasters.
They are taking on this high-risk mission to run artificial intelligence (AI) from orbit, powered by the sun and cooled by the cold vacuum of space. Agnikul and NeovCloud now want to translate this idea into practical, scalable, and practical hardware.
According to experts, powering and cooling data centers on Earth requires a lot of electricity and water, but in space, energy and radiative cooling are available for free.
A Narendra Sen, Founder and CEO of NeovCloud said, “We’re not just building a data center in space; rather, we’re creating an entirely new layer of orbital inferencing infrastructure.”
Its features include:
- It aims to reduce construction time on the ground.
- Fully solar-powered in orbit.
- This AI infrastructure is not limited to ground or water cooling.
