J&K Police recover 500g heroin near Indo-Pak border in Samba, suspected drone drop from Pakistan. Narco-terror plot foiled; investigation underway.

The area continues to be under enhanced surveillance as authorities anticipate more such attempts in the coming weeks. Investigations are underway to identify any local links to the smuggling attempt.
Samba: In a significant success against cross-border narco-terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered 500 grams of heroin from Chillyari village near the Indo-Pakistan International Border in Samba district late last night.
The heroin was found packed in a distinct yellow packet with a hook attached, suggesting that the consignment was air-dropped using a drone from across the border. The recovery site is located approximately four kilometres inside Indian territory, raising serious security concerns.
Intelligence sources believe the packet was part of a narco-terror attempt orchestrated from Pakistan to fund and facilitate subversive activities within Jammu and Kashmir. However, the timely action by J\&K Police thwarted the plan.
“This is a clear attempt to push narcotics into our territory for financing terror networks. Our teams remain on high alert along the border,” a senior police official said.
The area continues to be under enhanced surveillance as authorities anticipate more such attempts in the coming weeks. Investigations are underway to identify any local links to the smuggling attempt.
With this latest seizure, Jammu and Kashmir Police have once again dealt a blow to the Pakistan-backed nexus of drugs and terror aiming to destabilise the region.
