The political strategist-turned-activist has intensified his campaign with new promises ahead of Bihar elections.

New Delhi: Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor intensified his campaign against the ruling government in Bihar during his ‘Bihar Badlaav Jan Sabha’, held in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place in the months of October–November this year.

During his address, Kishor launched a scathing and fiery attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, as well as the Congress-RJD alliance, accusing them of deliberately keeping Bihar backward and underdeveloped only to fill their own pockets with money while ignoring the genuine aspirations of the people.

Recalling the 2009 incident in Buxar’s Itadhi area when stones were pelted at Nitish Kumar’s convoy for the first time, Kishor remarked, “This is the same revolutionary land. From here, the protest against Nitish Kumar will begin once again. He will be made answerable for betraying the trust and the expectations of the people of Bihar.”

Kishor further came down heavily on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for participating in the Congress’s Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, while highlighting his silence during the earlier incidents of violence against Bihari migrants in Tamil Nadu. “Where was Stalin when Bihar’s sons and daughters were brutally beaten in his state? And now, he dares to come here and seek votes. This is nothing less than a humiliation to every Bihari,” Kishor asserted, adding that the Congress-RJD leadership had completely failed in safeguarding the pride and dignity of Bihar.

Speaking on the recent incident involving an attack on Minister Shravan Kumar in Nalanda, Kishor accused the Nitish Kumar-led government of frequently using police force and lathis on ordinary citizens instead of addressing their grievances. “Students, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and even elected representatives like Mukhiya and Sarpanch — all have been subjected to police lathi-charge by this government. But now, the people of Bihar will give them a fitting reply. When they come seeking votes, they will be chased away by the public,” Kishor thundered.
Along with his sharp criticisms, Kishor also unveiled a comprehensive set of promises under his Jan Suraj initiative, aimed at transforming the future of Bihar.

He assured the people of Buxar that after Chhath 2025, local youth would be given employment opportunities within Bihar itself, with salaries ranging between Rs10,000–12,000 per month, in order to put an end to the state’s long-standing problem of large-scale migration. He went on to claim that nearly 50 lakh youths currently working outside Bihar would be brought back and given sustainable employment under a Jan Suraj-led government.

In addition, Kishor announced a social security measure stating that every man and woman above the age of 60 years would receive a monthly pension of Rs2,000 starting December 2025. On the issue of education, he promised that until government schools in Bihar are comprehensively reformed and improved, parents will be allowed to admit their children below the age of 15 into private schools, with the government itself bearing the full cost of fees. This, he said, would ensure that even children from the poorest households will get access to quality English-medium education.

Calling the upcoming Assembly elections a historic turning point, Kishor appealed to the people of Bihar to rise above caste divisions and party loyalties and cast their votes solely for the future of their children, focusing on better education and secure employment. “This Diwali and Chhath will be the last festivals of Bihar’s suffering. From the next one onward, a new chapter of change will begin with Jan Suraj,” he declared.
