Mahore: A deadly landslide struck the Badora area of Mahore sub-division in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district early Wednesday morning, killing two labourers and leaving another seriously injured.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 2 AM when the three labourers were asleep in a tent near a JCB machine at a construction site linked to the pilgrimage route near the Badora Shiv Gufa. Without warning, a massive landslide swept down the hillside, burying the tent under debris.
The deceased have been identified as Ravi Kumar (23), son of Parshotam Kumar from Channi tehsil in Udhampur, and Rashpal Singh (26), son of Soba Ram from Tuli Kalaban, Chassana tehsil in Reasi district.
The injured worker was rushed to Mahore Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Local authorities have reached the site and launched relief and rescue efforts. The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of workers and pilgrims amid ongoing construction along the hilly Yatra route.
