SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has terminated two government employees in Jammu and Kashmir under Article 311 of the Constitution for alleged involvement in terror-related activities. The move underscores the administration's continued crackdown on terror elements operating within state institutions and reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.
The dismissed employees include Ghulam Hussain, a teacher in the Education Department, and Majid Iqbal Dar, a teacher and former lab assistant. Officials said both individuals were engaged in activities threatening national security and public order.
Ghulam Hussain is accused of acting as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) for the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), maintaining contacts with active terrorists in Reasi, and facilitating recruitment, logistics, and financial support. Majid Iqbal Dar is alleged to have been involved in narco-terrorism, radicalization of youth, and terror financing through drug networks, including links to IED plots in Rajouri. He reportedly continued subversive activities even during detention.
The administration invoked Article 311(2)(c), allowing dismissal without inquiry in the interest of national security, with prior approval from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Officials confirmed that the decision followed thorough investigation and intelligence inputs.
The move comes amid intensified counter-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are actively targeting terrorist camps, infiltration attempts, and militancy networks in border and hinterland areas, including the recent Operation Sindoor, which neutralized terror hideouts in north Kashmir. Troops continue patrolling vulnerable sectors, dismantling IEDs, and conducting area domination operations to maintain law and order.
The administration emphasized that such actions are part of a broader effort to prevent anti-national elements from infiltrating government services and to reinforce citizen safety.
