LG Manoj Sinha hoists tricolour in Srinagar, pays tribute to martyrs, assures relief in Kishtwar, and calls for peace and development in J&K.

LG Manoj Sinha hoists the national flag at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, on 79th Independence Day, honoring martyrs and victims of Kishtwar cloudburst.
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, hoisted the National Flag at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. Extending heartfelt greetings to the people, the LG paid tribute to the freedom fighters and brave personnel of the Army, Police, and CAPFs who laid down their lives for the nation.
He also expressed deep condolences to the victims of the tragic cloudburst in Chashoti, Kishtwar, and assured that relief operations were underway on a war footing.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor called for collective resolve to ensure no individual or village is left behind in Jammu and Kashmir’s journey of peace and development.
“On this Independence Day, let us pledge to work together for a brighter, stronger future for the Union Territory,” he said.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the LG reiterated his pride in hoisting the tricolour and paid homage to martyrs of freedom and victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. He saluted the courage of armed forces and police involved in recent counter-terror operations including Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.
He emphasized that wiping out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir remains a top priority and underlined the need for public participation in achieving peace and prosperity.
“Let us rededicate ourselves to the empowerment of farmers, youth, and women. Together, we must build a strong, self-reliant, and terror-free Jammu and Kashmir,” the LG concluded.
