Jammu: Security forces on Tuesday evening launched massive search operations in the Gandoh area of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, after a group of armed terrorists was spotted moving in the region.
According to official inputs, around 5:30 pm, four terrorists dressed in combat trousers were seen at Bhateen Kainthi under the jurisdiction of Gundoh Police Station. Following the sighting, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched combing operations.
Intelligence agencies have indicated that nearly 25–30 terrorists may be hiding in the dense forests of the Chenab Valley and adjoining districts including Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, and Kathua. This has prompted heightened vigil and intensified search measures by security forces.
The renewed focus comes in the backdrop of *Operation Sindoor*, during which the Indian Armed Forces successfully targeted and destroyed terror launchpads and Pakistani military installations across the border. The Army has made it clear that terrorists still active in Jammu and Kashmir will be relentlessly pursued and neutralised.
Security officials said the ongoing operations are part of a broader counter-terror strategy to ensure that infiltration attempts and the presence of foreign terrorists in the region are dealt with firmly. The local population has also been advised to remain alert and cooperate with the forces during the operations.
