KATRA: In a major relief for devotees, the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board on Tuesday announced that the pilgrimage will resume from tomorrow, October 8, at 6:00 AM, after being suspended for three days due to adverse weather conditions.
The Shrine Board, in an official statement on X (formerly Twitter), said: “As already communicated, all Yatra registration counters shall remain operational tomorrow, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 AM onwards. Devotees are advised to stay updated through official communication channels for further information.”
The Yatra was suspended on October 4 following a heavy rainfall alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Authorities had closed registration counters and temporarily halted the movement of pilgrims to ensure safety.
The precautionary measure came after recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir caused widespread damage, particularly in Kishtwar, Kathua, and Doda districts. In Reasi, the Mata Vaishno Devi track at Ardhkuwari also witnessed disruptions and damage due to the rains.
With weather conditions stabilising, officials said all necessary safety checks have been carried out and the Yatra will now resume smoothly, bringing relief to thousands of pilgrims waiting to pay obeisance at the holy shrine.
