SRINAGAR: Senior National Conference leader and MLA from Eidgah, Mubarak Gul, expressed strong confidence on Monday that all NC candidates contesting in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections will secure victory.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Gul refrained from revealing the party’s election strategy but assured that the National Conference is well-prepared and optimistic about the outcome. “We are confident that all our candidates will emerge victorious,” he stated.

Three candidates from the National Conference have already filed their nomination papers. Responding to queries regarding the potential deadlock with alliance partner Congress over seat-sharing arrangements, Gul said, “There is still time until 3 PM. A final decision on the fourth Rajya Sabha seat will be taken accordingly.”

He confirmed that the nomination papers of the three candidates have been accepted without any objections and that the scrutiny process is scheduled for tomorrow. “The process is going smoothly, and we are hopeful about the final outcome,” he added.

The upcoming Rajya Sabha elections are being closely watched in Jammu and Kashmir, especially amid the delicate political dynamics between the regional parties and their alliance partners. While the NC-Congress alliance has shown strength in the past, the current seat-sharing talks have yet to yield a consensus, raising questions over unity within the bloc.

Despite this, Mubarak Gul’s remarks signal that the National Conference is moving ahead with its own plans and remains focused on securing its presence in the upper house of Parliament. With political equations evolving rapidly in the Union Territory, the Rajya Sabha elections are expected to play a key role in shaping the future discourse of mainstream politics in Jammu and Kashmir.
