NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday once again trained his guns at the NDA government by comparing the issue of unemployment and corruption with ‘vote theft’ and said now the youth will neither tolerate the looting of jobs nor the theft of votes.
Rahul Gandhi, who is also the former Congress chief and a Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli took the opportunity to target the BJP-led NDA government by sharing a split screen video which shows lathi charge on youths in Bihar over the issuenof employment and Prime Minister Narendra Modi feeding peacock, doing yoga and exercise at his residence.
In a post on X, while attaching the split screen video and said, “The biggest problem for youth in India is unemployment – and it is directly linked to vote theft.”
Backing his claims, the Congress leader said that when any government comes to power by winning the trust of the people, its first duty is to provide employment and opportunities to the youth.
“But the BJP does not win elections honestly – they stay in power by stealing votes and holding institutions captive,” he said, adding, “That’s why unemployment has reached its highest level in 45 years. That’s why jobs are declining, recruitment processes have collapsed, and the youth’s future is being pushed into darkness.”
He said “that’s why every exam paper leak and every recruitment is tied to stories of corruption”.
“The youth of the country works hard, dreams, and struggles for their future. But Modi is only busy with his PR, getting celebrities to sing his praises, and the profits of billionaires. Breaking the hopes of the youth and making them desperate has become the hallmark of this government,” he said.
“Now the situation is changing. The youth of India has realized that the real fight is not just for jobs, but against vote theft. Because as long as elections continue to be stolen, unemployment and corruption will also keep increasing,” he noted.
“Now the youth will neither tolerate the looting of jobs nor the theft of votes. Freeing India from unemployment and vote theft is now the greatest patriotism,” he said.
The Gandhi scion has been raising the issue of vote theft and had also taken out Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar for 16 days over the issue. He has been repeatedly alleging the issue of vote theft and had also targeted the Election Commission of working in collusion with the BJP.
The jibe from Rahul Gandhi came a day ahead of the party’s extended Congress Working Committee (CWC), highest decision making body meeting in Patna on September 24, first time after Independence in the state.
