New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday renewed his attack alleging that elections are being stolen in India and this is reality saying that he will bring out the truth in black and white with Karnataka example.

The former Congress president made the remarks while speaking to the media in Parliament premises.

Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli said, "The EC has said that poll officials have so far found more than 52 lakh voters were not present at their addresses and another 18 lakh have died in Bihar. Its not about Bihar, in Maharashtra they did cheating."

He said that the party asked for voter list, but the Election Commission did not do it.

"When we asked for the video footage, they changed the rule akd they steal the elections there as almost one crore voters were added," he alleged.

While referring to the Lok Sabha elections last year, the Congress leader said that in Karnataka also "we did some research and we have found a 'bhayankar chori' (massive theft) of votes there.

"I will show this to Election Commission in black and white. How and where votes are stolen, will show in black and white. And now they have realised that we have understood their game plan," he said.

He further said that we chose one constituency in Karnataka and deep dived.

He said, "They (EC) gave voter list in paper, which cannot be analyzed. So we took the voter list of one constituency and brought that in digital format. It took us six months, but we were able to reach to their system."

"Now they have realised this, thus they have said that they will bring a complete new system in Bihar to bring the new voter list and delete the voters," he alleged.

"Elections are being stolen in India and this is reality of India," he added.

The remarks of the Congress leade came in the wake of the Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls in Bihar being carried out by the Election Commission.

Parliament's Monsoon Session has witnessed several adjournments in past two days as Opposition has been demanding a discussion on SIR exercise of voter rolls.

The opposotion has been alleging that through SIR exercise the poll panel will remove lakhs of voters from the voter list.

The EC has dismissed the allegations of the Opposition and has.maintained that the SIR is being carried out to bring the eligible voters in the list.

Meanwhile, the EC had earlier also dismissed Rahul Gandhi's allegations on Maharashtra polls and had said that electoral rolls are prepared transparently and copies were shared with the recognised parties.

He also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over US President Donald Trump repeated claims of mediating ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Responding on Trump’s repeated remarks, Rahul Gandhi asked, “Why is he saying it so many times?”

The comment came after US President Donald Trump once again claimed credit for stopping a potential nuclear conflict between the two South Asian neighbours, India and Pakistan, allegedly using trade threats as leverage.
