New Delhi: Claiming that Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and those in the RSS-BJP are “brave only till they are in power”, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that it will take time, but the BJP-RSS will “be eventually defeated by truth”.
The Congress leader also launched a direct attack on the Election Commissioners saying that the rules giving them immunity will be changed if the party comes to power.
Speaking during the Congress “Vote chor, gaddi chhod” rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra named the three Election Commissioners and said that they will face action retrospectively when the Congress comes to power.
Rahul Gandhi said, “In parliament House, his hands were shaking, and Amit Shah ji gave clarification on their (ECI) behalf. I challenged him that we should debate and show the country who is speaking the truth. This is a country of truth. You maybe in power today. It has no meaning. This country has given lives for truth. I’ll tell you why his hands were shaken. They are brave only till they are in power. They know their vote chori has been exposed.”
While Rahul Gandhi spoke slogans of “vote chor, gaddi chhod” echoed in Delhi’s iconic Ramlila Maidan.
“It may take time but in India, truth will eventually win. Amit Shah and Narendra Modiji can give speeches. But we’ll remove you with the truth and non violence,” said Rahul Gandhi.
“What my sister said. That Modiji’s confidence is over. He knows that their vote chori has been caught and their truth will be known to the entire nation soon. This vote chori is an attack on the Constitution which says one person, one vote,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi even mentioned that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that the world remembers the powerful but they forget thebteaching of Mahatma Gandhi ad that is of “truth”.
“Mohan Bhagwat has said that the world does not look at truth, but power. The one who has power is being recognised. This is Bhagwat’s mindset and RSS ideology, which is against truth. Our ideology is for truth,” he said.
The Congress leader said that there was a “battle between truth and falsehood going on in the country”.
“Our ideology is the ideology of Hindustan and Hinduism. This is a battle between truth and falsehood. I tell you from this stage that we will dethrone PM Modi and Amit Shah with the truth as they are indulging in vote theft.” he said
Meanwhile addressing the rally, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said: “I see them in Parliament, they have lost self confidence. They can’t see eye to eye. Because the people’s trust has been lost. They need the ECI and without it, they can’t win elections. You should remember the three Election Commissioners. They are all involved in murdering democracy. This is the first time that all Opposition parties are saying they don’t trust the ECI.”
She said that the country won’t forget the three names of Election Commissioners — Gyanesh Kumar, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, Vivek Joshi.
“The country won’t forget these three names. No matter what arrangements they make, they will have to answer to the people – how they conspired. This government has failed on all fronts. Today dollar has touched Rs 90. Foreign policy has failed. No one stands with India in times of need. They are handing over all of the country’s resources,” the Congress MP from Kerala’s Wayanad said.
She also dared the BJP to contest elections through ballot paper.
“I challenge BJP to contest polls on ballot paper, they know they will never win,” Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said at the Congress rally against ‘vote theft’.
“You should not lose heart over losing Bihar, entire country knows BJP wins through ‘vote theft’,” she added.
Alleging that elections are not being conducted properly, she said that when we see every institution being crushed, all Indians should rise against it.
“EC shutting its eyes to Rs 10,000 being paid during election process; is this poll not ‘vote chori’? All institutions in country being made to bend before government.”
