Delhi is likely to witness unusually warm, early summer-like conditions and m major heat waves on Monday, 09 March, 2026 with temperatures staying 34 to 36 degrees Celsius above normal for this time of year.
According to the IMD, the country is likely to experience a warmer-than-average March. In most parts of the northern and central regions, the temperatures during the day will remain between 16-40°C with some areas experiencing an increase of 2-6°C above the normal temperatures due to the lack of cloud formation and rainfall.
The IMD recommends that residents in heat-affected regions stay out of the afternoon sun, wear light, breathable cotton clothing, cover their heads and remain well hydrated. The weather is expected to intensify between March 10 and 12 with scattered light to moderate rain and snow, easing gradually by March 13–14.
