Delhi is likely to witness unusually warm, early summer-like conditions on Thursday, 12 March, 2026 with temperatures staying 29 to 38 degrees Celsius above normal for this time of year.
According to the IMD, the country is likely to experience a warmer-than-average March. In most parts of the northern and central regions, the temperatures during the day will remain between 24-40°C with some areas experiencing an increase of 0-4°C above the normal temperatures due to the lack of cloud formation and rainfall.
According to the IMD, Gujarat is expected to experience heatwave to severe heatwave conditions around March 11, while Saurashtra and Kutch may face similar conditions on March 11 and 12. Isolated heatwave conditions could continue in parts of Gujarat until March 13. Central India is already seeing the impact, with temperatures in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region crossing 40°C amid strong sunshine and hot winds, making afternoons increasingly uncomfortable.
