According to the IMD, the country is likely to experience a warmer-than-average March. In most parts of the northern and central regions, the temperatures during the day will remain between 19-36°C with some areas experiencing an increase of 1-4°C above the normal temperatures due to the lack of cloud formation and rainfall.
According to forecast models, it is expected that the Western Himalayas, which include Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will experience light snowfall or rain. Snowfall has already occurred at places like Gulmarg and Sonamarg where the temperature at Srinagar will remain very cold with lows dipping to around –11 degrees Celsius while the highs will be around 1 degree Celsius.
