Security forces had intensified its counter insurgency operations in eastern Arunachal and eastern Assam following the recent spurt in insurgent activities in the region.
Recently, their has been a rise insurgent urgent activities in eastern Arunachal and Assam.
Since Oct 16, when insurgents attacked an Assam Rifles Company Operating Base (COB) in Changlang district, there has been a series of activities in the area.
During the ongoing counter insurgency operations, security forces, too, had tasted initial success by eliminating one hardcore ULFA-I cadre and arresting another, while a third surrendered.
Security forces, too, had recovered a lot of sophisticated arms and ammunition during this period. to cover one such counter insurgency operation in eastern Arunachal during which various teams of security forces conducted the operation.
In order to avoid casualties, security forces used Casper vehicles so that they could negotiate with the potential threat from explosives and Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
In addition, combat drones and highly trained explosive detection and tracker dogs are being used.
Day in and day out, braving inclement weather, across the thick jungles, cross rivers and rivulets, security forces are in hot pursuit of the insurgents who are trying to once again destabilize the region peace and tranquility.
Following the Delhi bomb blast, security forces have been alert and taking all preventive measures to curb such activities.
"We have stepped up vigil along the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh," said a police official.
