Srinagar: In a significant breakthrough, security forces in North Kashmir’s Handwara have arrested three terror associates during a joint operation conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and CRPF.
The arrests were made in the Wajihama area of Qalamabad following specific intelligence inputs. The operation led to the apprehension of three individuals allegedly linked to terrorist handlers operating from Pakistan.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
– Mohd Iqbal Pandith, son of Shareef Din Pandith, resident of Bunpora, Langate (Age 23)
– Sajad Ahmad Shah, son of Bashir Ahmad Shah, resident of Check-Puran, Langate (Age 26)
– Ishfaq Ahmad Malik, son of Shabir Ahmad Malik, resident of Hajin, Kralgund (Age 22)
Security forces recovered arms, ammunition, and incriminating material from their possession, including:
– One pistol with magazine Â
– Two pistol rounds Â
– Twenty rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition Â
– Eleven anti-national posters Â
Police have registered an FIR (No. 30/2025) under relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) at Police Station Qalamabad.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network and trace additional associates involved in the terror module.
